Equifax Breach – September 2017

Equifax, reported a data breach that potentially compromised sensitive and personal information of 143 million American consumers, including birth date, Social Security numbers, and driver’s license numbers.
If you are concerned that your personal information may have been compromised, Equifax created a website, www.equifaxsecurity2017.com, for you to determine whether your information is at risk. To find out if your information has been compromised begin the enrollment process for the free complimentary identity theft protection and credit monitoring program.

If you get a letter from Equifax stating that your information was compromised, you can request a Fraud Alert or credit freeze on your credit by contacting Equifax directly.

  • Review your monthly or quarterly statements for any credit card accounts you may have. You can review your West-Aircomm statements on line through Virtual Branch.®
  • Pull your credit history with free credit reports. A site that you may use to pull your credit report is www.annualcreditreport.com
  • Sign up for CardValet® and SecurLock™ for your credit and debit cards. These are FREE services West-Aircomm provides to our members that not only give you up to date potential fraud alerts, but allow you to control how and where your card is used.
  • Enroll in Sherpa Identity Theft Protection. For a small monthly fee you can have your information protected at a level you deem necessary.
